Price alerts

Alerts tell you when a market crosses a price. They are notify-only — an alert never places, modifies or cancels an order.

Setting one

Delivery

A bell in the header carries a badge when alerts have fired. Open it to see the symbol, your threshold, and the price actually seen when it fired. Opening the bell clears the badge.

They fire with nothing open

The watcher runs server-side on the market feed, so an alert fires at 3am with every tab closed and is waiting for you when you return. That is the entire point of an alert.

Limits and lifetime

• 20 armed alerts per account.
• Armed alerts expire after 30 days; fired ones stay in the bell for 7.
• Only listed markets can be watched — a typo’d symbol is refused at creation rather than arming an alert that could never fire.

Cancelling

The × on an armed alert cancels it. The × on a fired one clears it from the list. Both take effect immediately.

What alerts do not do

They do not trade. “Close half if BTC loses 60k” is a conditional order, not an alert, and it is a different feature — one that has to pass the policy engine with a pre-authorised order rather than merely sending a message. It is not built yet, deliberately: notify-only was the honest first version.
