Order types

Fills immediately against the book. On Hyperliquid a market order is an aggressive IOC limit under the hood, bounded by your max slippage — so it fills now, or not at all, but never arbitrarily far from the price you saw.

long 5x eth 2k

Rests at your price until filled or cancelled.

buy 0.5 eth at 1850

TIF controls resting behaviour:

  • GTC — good till cancelled. Rests until filled or you cancel it.
  • ALO — add liquidity only. Refuses to cross the spread, so it can only ever be a maker order. Rejected outright if it would take.

Resting orders appear in the Open Orders tab, where each row can be cancelled individually.

A trigger that closes into the market once price crosses your level. Always reduce-only, always sized as a percentage of the live position, and its direction is derived from what you actually hold.

set a stop on eth at 1750

The same mechanism in the other direction: triggers and closes when price reaches your target.

Splits a large order into slices executed over a duration, to reduce the market impact of arriving all at once.

twap 20k of btc over 2 hours

taker uses Hyperliquid’s native TWAP, so the venue itself performs the slicing — the order appears in Hyperliquid’s own interface and continues even if you close taker entirely. Sub-orders execute roughly every 30 seconds.

Trailing stops, scaled/laddered entries, and conditional orders (“close if funding flips”) are not built. Alerts cover the notify-me case today; see Price alerts.
